Batch clause

A provision in an insurance policy, particularly in liability coverage, that treats multiple individual claims arising from a single, continuous, or related series of events as a single occurrence for the purpose of applying deductibles, limits, and retentions. This clause prevents the erosion of aggregate limits by numerous small claims from a common cause. It is often found in product liability or professional indemnity policies.
