Recurring clause

A provision in a disability insurance policy that treats separate periods of disability from the same or related cause as a single period of disability, provided they occur within a specified timeframe. This clause prevents the insured from having to satisfy a new elimination period for each recurrence. The typical timeframe for such a clause is six months.
