Nonduplication of benefits

A provision in insurance policies, particularly in health or disability coverage, that prevents an insured individual from receiving more than 100% of their actual losses when covered by multiple plans. This clause coordinates benefits among different insurers to avoid overpayment. It specifies which policy pays first and how subsequent policies contribute to the remaining covered expenses.
