Branch captive

A type of captive insurance company established as a branch of an existing foreign captive insurer, rather than as a separate legal entity. This structure allows the foreign captive to operate and write insurance business directly in a different jurisdiction, often for tax or regulatory advantages. It must comply with the regulatory requirements of the jurisdiction where the branch is located.
