Credentialing liability

The legal responsibility of an organization, such as a hospital or healthcare system, for damages arising from its process of evaluating and approving the qualifications of medical professionals. This liability can stem from negligent credentialing, where an unqualified or incompetent practitioner is granted privileges, or from wrongful denial of privileges. Claims often allege harm to patients due to the actions of a poorly vetted provider or economic damage to a practitioner whose privileges were unfairly revoked.
