Negligent provider selection

A form of professional liability where an organization or individual is held responsible for harm caused by a third-party provider they chose, due to inadequate vetting or oversight. This liability arises when the selecting party fails to exercise reasonable care in assessing the provider's qualifications, competence, or background. For example, a hospital could be liable for negligent provider selection if it grants privileges to an unqualified physician.
