Earnings insurance

A form of business interruption insurance that protects a company against the loss of income resulting from an insured peril, such as fire or natural disaster. It covers the profits that would have been earned had the event not occurred, along with continuing operating expenses. The policy aims to restore the business to the same financial position it was in before the loss.
