Employers liability coverage (EL)

A component of a workers' compensation policy that protects an employer against lawsuits brought by employees for work-related injuries or illnesses that are not covered by workers' compensation statutes. This coverage addresses situations where an employee might sue for negligence, loss of consortium, or third-party over actions. It typically has separate limits of liability from the workers' compensation portion of the policy.
