Employers responsibility coverage

A component of a workers' compensation policy that provides coverage for an employer's legal liability for work-related injuries or illnesses that are not covered by the workers' compensation statute. This includes claims for bodily injury to employees arising out of and in the course of employment, but outside the scope of workers' compensation benefits. It addresses situations where an employee might sue the employer directly for negligence.
