Course of employment

The period during which an employee is engaged in work-related activities or is otherwise acting in furtherance of the employer's business. An injury or illness sustained by an employee is compensable under workers' compensation laws if it arises out of and in the course of employment. This includes activities directly related to job duties as well as incidental acts like breaks or travel between work sites.
