Enterprise risk management (ERM)

A coordinated, top-down approach for identifying, assessing, and managing the full spectrum of an organization's risks to its strategic objectives. Enterprise risk management (ERM) considers financial, operational, strategic, and hazard risks in an integrated portfolio view rather than in separate silos. The framework is designed to manage total risk exposure within the organization's risk appetite and is often aligned with standards such as ISO 31000 or the COSO ERM framework.
