Extended coverage endorsement

An addition to a basic property insurance policy that broadens the scope of protection to include perils not covered in the standard form. It adds coverage for specific risks such as windstorm, hail, explosion, riot, civil commotion, aircraft, vehicles, and smoke. This endorsement was historically common with named-peril fire insurance policies before the development of broader, all-risk policy forms.
