Extended discovery period (EDP)

A specified timeframe, following the expiration or cancellation of a claims-made liability policy, during which claims arising from acts or omissions that occurred during the policy period can still be reported. This period allows the insured to report claims that surface after the policy term ends. An EDP often requires an additional premium payment.
