Extended reporting period (ERP)

A specified duration, available for an additional premium, that extends the time an insured has to report claims under a claims-made liability policy after the policy's expiration or cancellation. The ERP covers claims arising from wrongful acts that took place during the original policy period. It is also known as a 'tail' coverage.
