Specified perils coverage

Property insurance that provides protection only for losses resulting from a list of explicitly defined events or causes. Common specified perils include fire, lightning, windstorm, hail, explosion, riot, and vandalism. This type of coverage is more restrictive than 'open perils' coverage, which covers all causes of loss unless specifically excluded.
