Exterior insulation and finish systems (EIFS)

A multi-layered exterior wall system that provides insulation and a finished surface for buildings. It consists of an insulation board attached to the exterior sheathing, a base coat with a reinforcing mesh, and a textured finish coat. EIFS can be a source of water intrusion claims if not properly installed or maintained, leading to damage to the building's structure.
