Family deductible

A provision in a health insurance policy that limits the total amount of deductible expenses a family must pay in a policy year, regardless of how many individual family members incur medical costs. Once the family deductible is met, the plan begins to pay for covered services for all family members. This cap provides financial protection for families with multiple health events.
