Foreign Corrupt Practices Act of 1977 FCPA

A United States federal law that prohibits U.S. companies and individuals from bribing foreign government officials to obtain or retain business. It also contains accounting provisions requiring companies whose securities are listed in the U.S. to make and keep accurate books and records and to devise and maintain internal accounting controls. Violations can result in substantial fines and imprisonment.
