Foreign title equivalent coverage provision

A clause in the definition of insured persons in a directors and officers policy that treats people holding a position outside the United States equivalent to a director or officer as covered, even though their local title differs from the titles named in the policy. Examples are the managing director of a United Kingdom company or the manager of a German GmbH. Policies usually phrase it as an extension to equivalent positions in foreign jurisdictions.
