Group captive

An insurance company owned by multiple non-insurance entities that come together to insure their own risks. Members are typically from the same industry or have similar risk profiles, sharing in the ownership, control, and underwriting profits or losses of the captive. This structure provides an alternative to traditional commercial insurance markets for its members.
