An attorney or team of attorneys employed directly by a corporation, including an insurance company, to provide legal advice and services exclusively for that organization. They handle a company's day-to-day legal matters, such as contract review, compliance, litigation management, and risk assessment, as salaried employees. This contrasts with outside counsel, who are attorneys in private practice hired on a case-by-case or retainer basis.
