Industrial health insurance
Term · Insurance and risk management · MLC-T-INS-001820
A historical form of health insurance providing limited benefits for medical care and lost wages due to sickness or non-occupational injury. Policies were sold with small, frequent premiums, which were collected in person by agents from the policyholder's home or workplace. Unlike modern group health insurance, these plans offered modest, specified cash payments for events like hospitalization rather than covering the actual cost of services.
