Lawyers professional liability coverage
Term · Insurance and risk management · MLC-T-INS-001968
An errors and omissions insurance policy that protects attorneys and law firms against claims of negligence, errors, or omissions in the performance of their professional services. The coverage responds to financial losses suffered by clients resulting from the lawyer's alleged failure to meet the required standard of care. Policies are written on a claims-made basis, meaning the policy in effect when the claim is filed must respond, not the one in effect when the error occurred.
