Loss triangle

A triangular array of data used by actuaries to project ultimate claim costs for a block of insurance policies. It displays incurred or paid losses for a specific accident year or underwriting year, developed over successive evaluation periods. Each row represents an accident year, and columns show development periods, typically in quarters or years.
