Policy year experience

A method of aggregating and analyzing insurance statistics by matching all premiums and losses associated with policies that became effective during a specific twelve-month period. This approach tracks all claims arising from that block of policies, regardless of when the claims are reported or paid. It contrasts with calendar year experience, which groups all premiums and losses recorded within a given calendar year, irrespective of the policy's effective date.
