Mutual law enforcement agreements

Formal contracts between two or more law enforcement agencies that establish terms for providing assistance across jurisdictional boundaries. These agreements address issues such as command structure, communication protocols, and the allocation of legal and financial responsibility for incidents that occur during joint operations. The agreement specifies which agency's policies, insurance, and indemnification provisions apply to officers acting outside their home jurisdiction.
