Natural hazards triggering technological accidents

A category of risk where a natural event, such as an earthquake, flood, or lightning strike, initiates a secondary technological disaster like a chemical spill, fire, or explosion at an industrial facility. This sequence of events is also known as a Natech accident. The 2011 Fukushima Daiichi nuclear disaster, where a tsunami triggered by an earthquake led to equipment failures and meltdowns, is a prominent example of this risk.
