Pass-through entity

A business structure, such as a partnership, S corporation, or limited liability company (LLC), that passes its income directly to its owners or investors without being subject to corporate income tax at the entity level. The income is then taxed at the individual owners' tax rates. This structure avoids the double taxation that occurs with C corporations.
