The specific geographic area within which a loss must occur for coverage to apply under an insurance policy. This defined region is explicitly stated in the policy documents and can range from a single country to a group of countries or worldwide. For example, a standard U.S. auto policy's territory is the United States, its territories and possessions, Puerto Rico, and Canada.
