Premium capacity

The maximum amount of insurance premium an insurer or the entire insurance market is willing and able to underwrite for a particular type of risk or in a given period. This capacity is influenced by an insurer's capital, surplus, reinsurance arrangements, and risk appetite. It dictates the total amount of coverage that can be offered to policyholders.
