Reimbursement policies
Term · Insurance and risk management · MLC-T-INS-002842
Insurance policies under which the insurer pays the insured back for covered expenses only after the insured has paid them and submitted proof of the cost. They differ from pay-on-behalf wording in liability insurance, where the insurer pays the injured party or provider directly. Out-of-pocket medical claims on health and travel policies commonly work on this basis.
