Reinsurance commission

A payment made by the reinsurer to the ceding insurer for the business transferred. This commission compensates the ceding insurer for its acquisition costs, such as underwriting expenses and agent commissions, associated with the original policies. It is typically calculated as a percentage of the ceded premium.
