Reissuance restatement

The correction and re-release of a company's past financial statements to rectify a material misstatement resulting from an accounting error. This type of restatement occurs when the previously issued financials are determined to be unreliable and should no longer be depended upon by investors or creditors. A reissuance restatement requires the company to file a Form 8-K with the Securities and Exchange Commission to notify the public.
