Reporting policy

A policy under which the insured sends the insurer regular reports of values or exposures, such as monthly stock values or quarterly sales, and the premium is set from those reports. A deposit premium is charged at inception and adjusted at expiration against the reported figures, subject to the policy limit. Reporting forms are standard for property, inland marine and cargo insurance, and general liability coverage can also be written this way.
