The total gross revenue generated by a business from its operations, used as a primary exposure base for calculating premiums for certain types of liability insurance. For general liability or products-completed operations coverage, the premium is determined by applying a rate per $1,000 of projected sales. At the end of the policy period, the premium is adjusted based on an audit of the actual sales figures.
