Social engineering

The use of psychological manipulation to trick individuals into divulging confidential information or performing actions that compromise security. Attackers may impersonate trusted figures or create a sense of urgency to persuade victims to provide login credentials, transfer funds, or install malicious software. Phishing, pretexting, and baiting are common forms of social engineering attacks that can lead to insurable losses under a cyber policy.
