Abandoned property

Personal property that an owner has intentionally and voluntarily relinquished all rights to, without transferring ownership to another party. The intent to abandon is a key element, inferred from the owner's actions or inactions. Once abandoned, the property may be claimed by the first person who takes possession, subject to local laws.
