A fictitious name for a parcel of land used in legal education, bar examinations, and scholarly texts to illustrate principles of real property law. Using a placeholder name like Blackacre allows for the discussion of complex legal scenarios involving estates, deeds, mortgages, and easements without reference to a specific, real-world property.
