Breach of the peace

A disturbance of public order by an act of violence or by an act likely to produce violence, or by conduct that causes alarm and disruption. This offense encompasses actions that infringe upon the tranquility and good order of a community. Statutes defining breach of the peace vary by jurisdiction but generally include disorderly conduct and fighting.
