Debenture

A type of unsecured bond or loan certificate issued by a company or government, backed only by the issuer's creditworthiness and general assets rather than by specific collateral. It represents a debt obligation that must be repaid to the holder. Debentures are commonly used by large, financially stable entities to raise capital.
