Domestic partners

Two individuals who live together in a committed, intimate relationship, often sharing a common residence and financial responsibilities, but who are not legally married. Some jurisdictions grant domestic partners certain rights and benefits similar to those of married couples, such as health insurance coverage or inheritance rights. The legal recognition of domestic partnerships varies significantly across different states and municipalities.
