Fornication

Sexual intercourse between two individuals who are not married to each other. Historically, this was a criminal offense in many jurisdictions under laws aimed at regulating public morality. While such laws remain on the books in some states, they are rarely enforced and have been found unconstitutional by several state courts following the Supreme Court's decisions on privacy.
