Seduction

Term · Law · MLC-T-LAW-004449

The act of enticing a person to engage in sexual intercourse, often through deception, flattery, or promises, particularly when the seduced party is a virgin or under the age of consent. Historically, this was a tort allowing a father to sue for loss of his daughter's services and reputation. Modern legal systems have largely abolished the tort of seduction, focusing instead on sexual assault or statutory rape laws.
