The solid part of the surface of the earth, including the soil, minerals beneath the surface, and the air space above it, extending to an indefinite height. In a legal context, it encompasses not only the ground but also anything permanently attached to it, such as buildings, trees, and water. Ownership of land typically includes rights to its use and enjoyment, subject to zoning laws and other regulations.
