Mala fides

Bad faith, indicating a dishonest intention or a lack of sincerity in a legal transaction or proceeding. This concept is the opposite of bona fides, or good faith. Actions taken in mala fides often lack legal protection and can lead to adverse legal consequences, such as the invalidation of a contract or the imposition of sanctions.
