An individual who controls and profits from the prostitution of others, often by recruiting, housing, and exploiting sex workers. This activity is illegal in most jurisdictions and is considered a form of human trafficking or organized crime. Laws against pimping aim to protect individuals from exploitation and coercion in the sex trade.
