Pour-over will

Term · Law · MLC-T-LAW-003820

A will that directs the distribution of a testator's assets into an existing trust upon their death. This type of will simplifies estate planning by allowing assets not already held in the trust to be added to it, where they are then managed and distributed according to the trust's terms. It avoids the need to detail all asset distributions within the will itself.
