Precatory

Describing language in a legal document, such as a will or trust, that expresses a wish, hope, or recommendation rather than a binding command or obligation. Precatory words do not create legally enforceable duties or interests. Courts often examine the entire document to determine if the language was intended to be mandatory or merely advisory.
