Profit margin

A measure of a company's profitability, calculated by dividing net income by revenue and expressed as a percentage. It indicates how many cents of profit the business generates for each dollar of sales. There are several types of profit margin, including gross profit margin, operating profit margin, and net profit margin, which account for different sets of costs.
