Provisional ballot

A ballot cast by a voter whose eligibility is in question at the polling place, but who is permitted to vote subject to later verification. This allows individuals to exercise their right to vote even if there are administrative issues with their registration or identification. The ballot is counted only after election officials confirm the voter's eligibility.
